The Royal Marsden NHS Trust : New MRI Suite
The works comprised the refurbishment and alteration of an existing diagnostic imaging department and included the formation of a new scanner room including RF cage, together with a new plant room housing all the dedicated services for the MRI suite.
The new MRI scanner was sited on the fourth floor of the hospital and a significant amount of new fabricated stainless steel support steelwork was required. In addition a structural scaffold was provided externally for the scanner delivery which also required the removal and reinstatement of a section of the building façade.
The works were completed in five sections so that the diagnostic imaging department remained operational at all times.
