The Royal Marsden NHS Trust : New Reception Area
The works undertaken in three phases comprised the alteration and refurbishment of the existing main reception area. This involved a significant amount of structural alteration, that due to restricted access, was undertaken using a proprietary method of integral support for forming the new openings.
The refurbishment works were completed to a high standard and included limestone flooring, a specially prepared limestone feature wall and areas of timber veneered panelling. A new stainless steel revolving entrance door was installed and a special cold cathode light fitted within an elliptical feature which was incorporated within the ceiling.
The works also involved extensive services diversions and alterations, together with a new advanced fire detection system that interfaced with the entire existing hospital system.
