Horton Court West
Cuffe has recently completed the the construction of a new glass enclosed lift shaft and lift installation at the Horton Court West apartment block in Kensington High Street.
The project involved major structural alteration works and high quality fitting out of the new reception area, lift lobbies, landings and stairs in a fully occupied residential building. A new five metre square rooflight was also installed over the stair and lift well.
The position of new lift shaft overlapped with the existing installation and there was no alternative lift facility in the six storey block. Cuffe made a proposal to install a temporary and fully enclosed external lift adjoining the external rear fire escape stairs which was adopted by the Client . Decorated and carpetted walkways were constructed and the installation appeared to be totally 'internal' to the residents.
Throughout the project there was very close liaison between Cuffe, the occupants, the Client and Project Manager and on completion Cuffe received letters of congratulations from both the Client, Phillimore Successor's Settlement and the Project Manager, Savills.
